Day 1

Tromsø, the Arctic capital

Arrive in Tromsø and pick-up your rental car to drive to the city centre. Explore this Arctic city known as “Paris of the North”. Tromsø is the largest city in the Nordic countries, north of the Arctic Circle and is home to the world’s northernmost university, brewery and cathedral. In the evening depart from Tromsø sailing north to Honningsvåg. Dinner and overnight on board Hurtigruten. Car will be on board.

Day 2

Arrival in Honningsvåg and North Cape

Breakfast on board the Hurtigruten, arrival in Honningsvåg around noon. Upon arrival in Honningsvåg you join an excursion to mainland Europe’s most northern point, the North Cape. This is a wild and windswept headland where the cliffs rise dramatically 300 metres from the sea, and you gaze out with nothing but water between you and the frozen wastes surrounding the North Pole. Overnight in hotel.

Day 3

Honningsvåg – Karasjok

Breakfast at the hotel and departure. Today you will drive south to the area known as the capital of the Sami, Karasjok. Your day is at leisure to discover Karasjok. Tonight you will stay at Engholm’s Husky Lodge situated next to Karasjohkariver, 6 km outside of Karasjok. The designed log houses were built by Sven – the owner himself – and have a special charm. Sven has made all the interior furnishing and decoration in order to create a unique and personal atmosphere in each house. Enjoy the wood heated sauna and the very popular outdoor hot tub. Dinner and overnight in the cosy and authentic Engholm’s Husky Lodge in your own private cabin.

Day 4

Karasjok – dog sledding

Post breakfast at the lodge it is time for one of the tour’s highlights! Drive your “own” dog team during this magical daytrip. This excursion includes a barbeque lunch on an open fire. The tour goes far off the beaten track and provides an interesting and unique dog sledding experience. Sven’s farm consists of 40-50 highly trained sled dogs for long-distance racing and tours. The tour will last approximately four hours and the actual ride will be about one hour. Overnight at the lodge

Day 5

Karasjok – Saariselkä

Today you will leave Norway and enter Finland. Check in at glass igloos. You can enjoy a variety of winter activities here.

Day 6

Saariselkä – snow mobile safari

Post breakfast enjoy a two hours snowmobile safari. The snowmobile safari takes you to the small ski village of Saariselkä situated approximately ten kilometers away. You will be transferred by private vehicle from the hotel to the safari office. At the safari office you will receive full equipment, including thermal suit, boots, socks, gloves, balaclava and helmet. An all-important lesson follows. When everybody is ready the safari trail begins with a drive up to the beautiful Kaunispää fell, 436 m above sea level. At the top of this fell you can enjoy the magnificent views of the area below. The trail then continues through the beautiful, mystical forest. This safari excursion is two hours long and includes an en-route coffee break. Two persons can share one snowmobile and take turns in driving or you can request one for sole occupancy at a supplementary cost. This safari provides an everlasting memory of true excitement in Finnish Lapland!

Day 7

Saariselkä – Rovaniemi

Post breakfast drive to the capital of Finish Lapland – Rovaniemi. Rovaniemi is the “official” home of Santa Claus and here you will find Santa’s village, with a post office to send your letters to Santa himself. Rovaniemi is also a city offering a variety of restaurants and shopping possibilities. All your winter wishes can be made a reality in Rovaniemi.

Day 8

Rovaniemi – Muonio

Head back North to Muonio. Enjoy a day of unforgettable safari programs in the beautiful and unspoiled nature of Northern Lapland.

Day 9


An entire day of leisure to simply enjoy your surroundings or book an activity as per your preference.

Day 10

Muonio – Tromsø

Breakfast at the hotel. It is time to leave Finland behind and travel back to Norway and the capital arctic city of Tromsø.

Day 11

Departure from Tromsø

Post breakfast, self-drive to the airport; return your rental vehicle and depart for your hometown.
