Itinerary

Day 1

Cape Town

From flat-topped Table Mountain down to the blue waters of Table Bay, Cape Town is simply stunning. On the first day of your personalized South Africa trip, explore South Africa’s most beautiful, most romantic and most visited city – Cape Town. Here, you will go to your accommodation to unpack and unwind. Enjoy the evening at leisure walking along the beach to see a handful of historical and cultural markers and like a happy kid comb the sand for seashells and bits of sea glass; don’t we all live for moments like these where we can be as carefree as a toddler? You can even choose to visit V&A Waterfront, one of the most popular shopping and dining area in Cape Town. It has tons of shops and restaurants. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and return to your luxurious hotel in the night.

Day 2

Cape Town Sightseeing

The second day of your South Africa custom tour will start early for a full-day city ride. A private vehicle will pick you from the hotel and drop you at the embarkation point from where you will hop on a ferry towards Robben Island where Nelson Mandela, the 1st black president of South Africa was imprisoned for 18 years out of his 27 years exile. After returning from a unique trip to Robben Island full of interesting, emotional, and inspiring moments, you will take the cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. Perhaps the most famous attraction in Cape Town, Table Mountain offers 360 degree views of the entire city! By late evening, reach back to your hotel and relax. Enjoy your dinner in the hotel or explore one of the many restaurants at the waterfront.

Day 3

Cape Town – Cape of Good Hope – Hermanus

After breakfast, you will leave for Hermanus via Cape Peninsula, a rocky peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean at the south-western extremity of the African continent. Drive to Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope through several small fishing towns and penguin colonies as you cross dramatic views of the ocean on one side and mountains on another; it’s one of the most adventurous rides you will ever do! Explore the stunning landscapes and wild beauty at the Cape of Good Hope before moving on towards Hermanus, a town embraced by majestic mountaintops and most famous for being the home of the Southern Right Whale. Every year, these gentle creatures of the sea migrate along the coast of South Africa with Walker Bay as one of their destinations.

230 KM 07 HOURS
Day 4

Hermanus

Speaking of adventures, imagine yourself in a cage, now that cage is sunk into the ocean, and great white sharks surround you! This is exactly what shark cage diving is all about and today is the day to experience it. This is one of the singular activities that draw most tourists for a South Africa trip. You can also buy the video of your daring stunt as a souvenir! After your dare devil stunts with the sharks, return to Hermanus and spend the rest of your holiday exploring this charming town. Famous for whale watching, beaches, and nature as well as its food and wine scene, Hermanus is a destination that checks all the boxes: a palpable history, thriving art scene, boutique shopping, and a busy program of festivals, concerts, and events.

Day 5

Hermanus – Cape Agulhas – Mossel Bay

Post breakfast, start your journey towards Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of the African continent where South Africa’s two oceans meet. With the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean on the west and the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean on the east, there’s a plethora of things to do and see –from the stately mountains and the mighty ocean to the impressive plant and animal life. Cape Agulhas is a landmark location on the African map and very few people ever get a chance to reach as far south as you will today, thus making for one of the most memorable curated travel experiences. After spending sometime at Cape Agulhas, proceed towards Mossel Bay where you will get to push your limits one more time as you experience skydiving here!.

Day 6

Mossel Bay – Oudtshoorn – Knysna

Start driving on the stunning Garden Route which is one of the most beautiful drives in the world. Then head towards Oudtshoorn, one of the most visited tourist places on the Garden Route. It’s situated between the Swartberg and Outeniqua Mountain Ranges. Get to explore an Ostrich Farm where the very rare Kenyan Red and Zimbabwe Blue ostriches as well as the local South African breeds can be viewed. Continue your journey post lunch to reach the idyllic beach town of Knysna. In the evening, stroll along the shore, take a luxury cruise on the lagoon, or enjoy some local oysters – one of the best and most sought after cuisines in Knysna. For decades, Knysna has retained its title as the oyster capital of South Africa, and rightfully so.

215 KM 07 HOURS
Day 7

Knysna

The scenic town of Knysna is renowned for its beauty and tranquillity. It is a popular holiday destination for local and international visitors, hosting a number of events throughout the year. Surrounded by forests, water, and rolling hills, Knysna is the ideal destination for hiking, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, running, and a relaxing holiday. The Knysna Heads and Featherbed Nature Reserve are well worth a visit. Hike around the spectacular Tsitsikamma National Park and brave the suspension bridges for spectacular views. Enjoy a hike through the Knysna forest – a true tropical and subtropical ecoregion and one of the most diverse and beautiful areas along the East Coast of South Africa. Later, head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8

Knysna – Colesberg

Today is going to be a long day on the road, so have an early breakfast and start your journey towards Colesberg. The journey will take approximately eight hours, but you will enjoy every moment of it as the journey treats you to stunning views all day. Colesberg is a traveler’s oasis on the main Cape Town-Johannesburg route, the N1, offering many attractive accommodation establishments and entertainment. The town lies in a typical Karoo veld and is surrounded by koppies (little hills). The most famous mountain in the region is known as Coleskop, which can be seen from a distance of over 40 kilometres. Early travellers called it “Towerberg” that translates into “Magic Mountain”. The curious thing about this koppie is that as you travel towards it, it never seems to get nearer; speaking of what you chase will run away!

525 KM 08 HOURS
Day 9

Colesburg – Johannesburg

Commonly known as Jo’burg or Jozi, this is the vibrant heart of South Africa, a rapidly-changing city looking optimistically towards the future. Johannesburg is the world’s largest city not built on a coastline or on a lake or river. That’s why Joburg is also called the world’s biggest ‘dry port’. New loft apartments and office developments are being constructed at a rapid pace here and the hipster-friendly neighbourhood of Maboneng is now considered one of the most successful urban-renewal projects in the world. Reach Johannesburg after a long day on the road, and spend the evening in the lap of your luxurious hotel.

630 KM 08 HOURS
Day 10

Johannesburg – Kruger National Park

Well rested? Well, you still have miles to go before you can sleep so swing back into action and head towards one of the world’s greatest destinations for wildlife-viewing – the incredible Kruger National Park. It is located in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces, west of the Lebombo Mountains on the Mozambique border. The area has a generally flat terrain with low ranges of hills traversed by nearly 5,000 miles of paved and gravel roads. Vegetation varies from open veld to dense bush that includes mopane, acacia, marula, and baobab trees. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel, and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

510 KM 09 HOURS
Day 11

Kruger National Park Game Drive

Steeped in legend and history, the iconic Kruger National Park is waiting for you to explore its vast landscapes and spectacular African wildlife. Post breakfast, you will head for a full day game drive. Kruger National Park is home to not one or a few but almost all of Africa’s exemplary safari species – elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, buffalos, giraffes, hippos and zebras along with many other mammals and a stupendous variety of birds. After ensuring that you have had your fill of intense natural encounters with wildlife of all manner, you will be treated to a picnic lunch in the middle of nowhere. In the evening, head back to the hotel and enjoy a dinner in the African wilderness.

Day 12

Kruger National Park – Johannesburg

After spending a couple of nights in the wild, it is time to head back towards civilization. Enjoy your last breakfast in the wild unless you plan to come back again! Checkout and head back towards Johannesburg to board your return flight. In case you would like to extend your stay in Johannesburg, our South Africa customized holiday packages team will be happy to assist you. Ernest Hemingway once rightly said, “I never knew of a morning in Africa when I woke up and was not happy”. After being thoroughly astounded and enthralled by the irresistible beauty of South Africa, you will always sleep with a smile on your face and wake up to a blissful morning!

510 KM 09 HOURS
Day 13

After breakfast, you will be transferred to O.R. Tambo International Airport for your flight back home. As you take off from South Africa, take a moment to reflect on the experiences over the days gone by and return home with a heart full of memories.
