Moscow
Home to the famous Red Square, you will arrive in the beautiful city of Moscow. The city is said to date back eight-and-a-half centuries and has beautiful architecture created over several centuries. You will be directly transferred from the airport to the hotel where you will meet your trip planner. You can relax before you start discovering Moscow. From ice skating rinks to ice sculptures and snow parades, there is a lot to see in this Russia customized holiday packages tour. The city is also home to the world famous Bolshoi Theatre, for those who prefer more classical entertainment. Spend the evening at leisure to walk around the city, visit the famous Gum mall or dine at a local restaurant.
Moscow To Sergiev Posad
Start your Russia tour with a bang as we head out to explore the harsh winters of Russia by road! Begin your drive on the snow-covered roads for an experience of a lifetime. There are some really crazy things you can do in Russia and today will give you a chance to indulge in some of them such as a tank ride and a AK-47 shooting experience which concludes with a military style lunch! After this very unique adventure, continue further ahead and reach Sergiev Posad, also known as the “Russian Vatican”. The city is located amongst picturesque forests on the shore of the large and circular Lake Plescheevo. You will be visiting the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, which is one of the most famous Russian monastery and spiritual centre of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Sergiev Posad To Koprino
Today, as a part of your Russia custom tour package, you will be proceeding towards Koprino; it is located on the Rybinskoye Reservoir coast, 40 kilometres from Rybinsk city. On the way, drive through several towns of the famous Russian Golden Ring like Uglich and Myshkin. The Golden Ring is a collection of historic Russian cities, northeast of Moscow and is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy the quiet and peaceful life in the Russian province, beautiful countryside views, and ancient architecture. En route, you will also get a chance to see the frozen Volga River, which is the longest river in Europe.
Koprino Rest Day / Activity Day
Don’t be snow-bored! Today, embrace the unknown as we have planned a day full of surprises and fun adventures, a curated travel experience to crank up the fun-and-adventure factor of your Russia trip. Choose to relax and unwind at the wellness centre or enjoy the great outdoor options. Trust us, this can be quite an exhilarating and challenging experience. You can also do Skiing or Snowboarding and admire the beautiful views. If you don’t feel like carving the slopes on skis, try sculpting the snow with a Snowcat. Driving a Snowcat is truly one of the most unique experiences you can have in Russia. You can even try your hands at fishing. The day can’t get any better than this.
Koprino To Vologda
After breakfast, head towards Vologda, a city located in northwest Russia. Vologda is a city in northwest Russia. It’s known for the Vologda Kremlin, whose landmark buildings include the 16th-century St. Sophia Cathedral and its gilded bell tower. Nearby, the Lace Museum traces the heritage of the craft. The World of Forgotten Things is a museum displaying vintage household objects. To the north, the huge Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery complex includes centuries-old wooden and stone churches. En route, enjoy some excellent winter driving experience. Later in the afternoon, you will visit the Vologda Open Air Museum of Architecture and Ethnography. It welcomes you to the world of the northern Russian village of the late 19th and early 20th century. Here, you can get a first-hand experience of Russian traditions, attitudes, and cultural background.
Vologda To Tikhvin
Start early today as there is a long way to go on a combination of highways, forests and off-roading tracks. After hot cups of tea and coffee and a scrumptious Russian breakfast, start the long drive towards Tikhvin, a place which became the first town in the USSR to be liberated from fascists, stands on the territory of the Volkhov lowland on the Tikhvinka river. Located in the eastern part of the Leningrad region, Tikhvin is a large industrial city famous for its interesting fragments of the Tikhvin water system as well as the famous Tikhvin Assumption Monastery. Admire the vast expanses of the Russian land, old wooden houses and the villagers who have chosen a simple measured life, as you drive through the quaint towns.
Tikhvin To Petrozavodsk
Post a hearty breakfast, start your drive towards Verkhniye Mandrogi which is more of a living museum than a live-in village. It features a collection of old wooden houses and is geared towards showing visitors what a traditional Russian village resembled in the past. After lunch, you will get to ride in a sleigh drawn by horses. Take a walk through the village where you will see demonstrations of wood carving, lacework, and pottery. From here, continue the journey towards Petrozavodsk, the capital of the Republic of Karelia. Set on a bay on vast Lake Onega, it is the launching point to two of the region’s biggest attractions: Kizhi Island and Valaam Monastery. Its neoclassical facades, a large student population and connections with Finland all make for a distinctly European atmosphere.
Karjala Park Rest Day / Activity Day
If you are a dog lover, then you are in for a treat! Today, get a chance to familiarise yourself with beautiful Siberian Husky breed and a tour of their kennel. Their wolf-like features are hard to miss and their piercing blue eyes will have you transfixed. Enjoy activities like Husky walks or Husky sledding. You will be able to communicate with these intelligent and affectionate dogs and feed treats to them. You will also get a short theory course on sledge riding and briefing on safety. Post which you can enjoy the ride as a passenger with an experienced instructor. You can even take a trip on a snowmobile. Enjoy the speed and sparkling snow as you experience the beauty of Karelia flashing by.
Petrozavodsk To St. Petersburg
Today is the longest day of the journey as we head towards the world famous city of St Petersburg. It is going to be a long drive on the road but with the experience of last one week under your belt, this long drive is going to pleasant and comfortable. By the end of the day, you will give yourself a pat on your back on completing 450 kilometres drive in such extreme conditions. As part of the long and exciting drive today, you will also be driving through Staraya Ladoga, which claims to be the first capital of Russia and also see the Staraya Ladoga Fortress. Visiting this soulful old place and wandering around its crumbling ramparts is a unique experience and you might feel you’re in a Tarkovsky film.
St. Petersburg Sightseeing Day
Spend your rest day exploring the beautiful city of St. Petersburg, yet another destination to check off from your list of personalized itineraries in Russia. Admire the beautiful architecture, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, Hermitage Museum or simply walk down the streets and admire the beautifully decorated bridges, monuments and the buildings that once housed Russia’s nobility. Everything is fascinating in St. Petersburg. No wonder, St. Petersburg is rated as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. If you are an art connoisseur, the Hermitage Museum is a must see which is home to more than 3,000,000 pieces of art. In the evening, enjoy the dinner in the hotel or a at a local restaurant.
