Some places defy description. Their lure and immense beauty lie in the fact that one cannot describe how being there made them feel. Kenya is one such spot on the globe. The cradle of all life. The land where safari was born. Sprawling savannahs teeming with all manners of wildlife, monumental landforms, and people that add spirit and colour to the stunning landscape – Kenya is so much more than just a destination to be ticked off one’s bucket list. “Few can sojourn long within the unspoilt wilderness of a game sanctuary without absorbing its atmosphere; the Spirit of the Wild is quick to assert supremacy, and no man or woman of any sensibility can resist her,” expressed James Stevenson Hamilton, a celebrated champion of wildlife conservation. This is what it feels like to be truly one with nature, and we are excited to offer you the opportunity to embark upon such an excursion.
A chauffeur-driven road affair that will revitalise your body and soul as nothing else will; this will prove to be the trip of a lifetime. And with Adventures Overland at the helm, you can rest assured that luxury, safety and convenience will always be at the forefront!

ROAD TO LONDON
Jordan is an experience that will either become a remarkable ‘forever’ memory or a journey that you would crave to experience time and again. It is a Middle Eastern ethereal gem that transcends your heart and soul into a space-time where all things feel, just perfect.
The bustling Kenyan urban haven that’s Nairobi, welcomes you into its fold with aplomb as you lay your eyes upon the majestic animals grazing peacefully within the confines of the Nairobi National Park which lies adjacent to the airport.
We will now cruise into the central provinces of Kenya. Amply irrigated by rivers and streams bearing waters from the melting snow of the great Mount Kenya - this is a region of emerald green vibrance and exceptional scenic beauty. Fish out those cameras and let the shutters flick, as you cross 0 degrees latitude and move from the South into the Northern Hemisphere at the Equatorial Marker. Next up on the roster is a visit to the renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, this remarkable 900-acre set-up was established in order to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. The charming tented accommodation offered by Serena Sweetwaters Camp will make for a most comfortable backdrop, as you put your feet up while lounging in a veranda that overlooks a waterhole frequented by graceful antelopes and giraffe.
Our sojourn at Ol Pejeta continues with a host of activities planned for the day, including a scrumptious Bush Lunch and game drive. The largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos, Ol Pejeta also has some of the highest predator densities in Kenya. Post dinner, we will continue to serenade the spirit of the wild. The night safari at this sanctuary has been heralded as being truly unforgettable by wildlife enthusiasts. Bid adieu to this glorious day as you reflect upon your viewings and sightings. Allow your gaze to travel across the plains to witness the glorious vistas of Mount Kenya, and let peace reign over you.
Leaving behind the looming Mount Kenya, our merry troupe will now head westward and traverse the foothills of the Aberdare Mountain Range to reach the Great Rift Valley region. Part of an intra-continental ridge system that runs from the north to the south of the country - the valley is bordered by escarpments to the east and west and comprises volcanoes (some of which are still active) and a series of lakes. The stunning landscape provides an idyllic backdrop for the water bodies which are home to the world’s largest species of migratory birds. Lake Naivasha, occupying the highest point of the valley at 1,884 Mt, is a freshwater lake which hosts hundreds of species of birds and a sizeable population of hippos. A scintillating boat ride upon this vast expanse of blue waters is sure to transport you to a whole different world altogether.
Leaving the avian paradise of Lake Naivasha behind, we head on towards the sprawling grasslands of Maasai Mara. One of the world’s best-known conservation areas, Maasai Mara boasts the highest concentration of wild animals in the world. Heed the call of the wild as you take part in an absolutely breath-taking afternoon game drive around the reserve. Tune out the chaos of the outside world later, and draw your day to a close by listening in for the nocturnal sounds of the incredible fauna surrounding you.
Start the day with a spirited early morning game drive around the reserve which is undoubtedly the best place in the world to spot the elusive Big 5 - African Bush Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Black Rhinoceros, African Lion, and African Leopard. After having indulged in the thrilling drive, you will be introduced to the enigmatic locals at a Maasai village nearby. Standing tall and proud in their elaborate gear, the Maasai warriors rightly appear to be a force to reckon with. A delectable lunch will be then followed by an afternoon drive around the reserve, wherein you can satisfy your thirst for spotting some more of these remarkable creatures - a trip to the Maasai Mara is bound to cast its spell on you, and make for memories that will be cherished for years to come
After bidding farewell to the umpteen delights of the Maasai Mara, our convoy is now set to be driven back to Nairobi. Having tucked-in a delicious lunch spread, you will be taken for a visit to the Giraffe Centre. Functioning under the aegis of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya), this inspiring organisation was founded in the year 1979 by the late Jock Leslie-Melville and his wife Betty Leslie-Melville. The couple set up the Giraffe Centre after discovering the pitiable conditions of the Rothschild Giraffe - a sub-species found exclusively in East Africa. Today, the establishment has become famous as a Nature Education Centre, teaching scores of Kenyan school children each year - while also o¬ffering visitors from all around the globe an opportunity to engage closely with these regal animals.
Your mesmerising African adventure is now drawing to an end. With a cartload of memories that will stand unrivalled for a long time to come, your tryst with Kenya is sure to have whetted your appetite for more such journeys within the warm embrace of the Mother Continent. As you get set to board the return flight home, ponder upon these words by American conservationist and author, George Schaller - “To witness that calm rhythm of life revives our worn souls and recaptures a feeling of belonging to the natural world. No one can return unchanged, for tawny lions will forever prowl our memory and great herds throng our imagination.”

Adventures Overland offers two types of Expeditions – Fixed Departures and Customized Tours. As part of our Fixed Departures, you will be self-driving your (or a rented vehicle) in a convoy of vehicles that are always led by at least one support vehicle and 2 crew members. For a bigger convoy, we provide a lead and a sweep vehicle. Customized Tours are those where you travel on your own chosen dates, and we can customize the route as per your preferences. For such journeys, we make all necessary travel arrangements, including hotel bookings, permits, and excursions, and if required, we can send a support team with the group.
We organize expeditions all around the world on 6 continents every year. We organize fly-and-drive expeditions in Jordan, Russia, Iceland, Alaska, Mongolia, South America, Africa and Australia, where you don’t need to bring a vehicle as the vehicle is included in the package.
Since 2012, we have been proudly putting together offbeat and luxury bespoke tours all around the world for solo travellers, families, couples and senior citizens who come from different walks of life and comprise entrepreneurs, professionals, industrialists, doctors, creative minds etc., mostly aged 35 years & above.
Our expeditions are ideal for solo travellers (male and female) and families with kids. The average male and female ratio on most of our expeditions is 60:40. Families, couples and senior citizens join us frequently in all kinds of expeditions.
Driving is NOT mandatory on any of our expeditions, and you are most welcome to enjoy the journey, sit back and relax while someone else is behind the wheel!
Drivers must be a minimum of 25 years old. We expect you to be a confident and competent driver with plenty of driving experience. You should normally have held your driver’s license for a minimum of two years. Please also note that most of our expeditions include sections of gravel or dirt roads, as stated in the Expedition Summary. We never travel off the road, it is simply that there are sections where the road is not paved.
