Upon arrival at Zurich airport, you will be transferred by a luxury vehicle to your hotel. Once you have settled in, you will receive a detailed road book. Your AO Concierge will give you a call at the scheduled time to brief you on the exciting days ahead.
After picking up your car in Zurich, drive south to the stunning blue Lake Lucerne. Enjoy a relaxing coffee break by the lake, then head to the amazing Susten Pass. Be sure to stop for views of the alpine lake at the foot of the Stein Glacier. Have a traditional Swiss lunch either at the top of the pass or after descending. Next, drive to Lake Brienzersee and the famous city of Interlaken.Here, you can either explore the charming town or visit the Schilthorn ice station, Piz Gloria, which is 2,790 meters up. Piz Gloria was featured as Blofeld's hideout in “On Her Majesty's Secret Service”. The world’s first revolving restaurant offers breathtaking views of the Alps, including the Monch, Eiger, and Jungfrau.Regardless of your choice, you'll be just a few miles from the romantic mountain town of Grindelwald, where you'll stay the night.
From Grindelwald, drive south through the Alps and the Italian-speaking Swiss canton of Ticino. Start by crossing the stunning Grimsel Pass, then move on to the Furka Pass, famous for the James Bond car chase scene with Tilly Masterson in “Goldfinger”. Visit the Rhone Glacier, an 8 km-long glacier that is the source of the River Rhone.
Next, climb the Gotthard Pass, stop at the top for lunch, and then descend into Ticino. Soon after, you'll arrive at the beautiful shores of Lake Como, where you'll stay for your third evening.
Today’s drive returns to Switzerland via the scenic shores of Lake Lugano and the famous San Bernardino Pass. Enjoy one last coffee by the Italian Lakes in the morning.Next, drive through Valley Mesolcina and its charming Italian villages to the breathtaking San Bernardino Pass, known as one of Europe’s best driving roads.In Switzerland, you can either drive up to Splugen Pass and back or continue on to a traditional Swiss lunch. Follow the Rhine River north, then head east to Albula Pass and descend into St. Moritz, where you'll stay for the next two nights.
Your final tour back to Zurich takes you south from St. Moritz over the stunning Bernina Pass, following the Bernina Express railway past glaciers and rivers. You'll then visit the tax-free resort of Livigno, on the edge of Stelvio National Park, for lunch.After lunch, head back north to Zurich. First, cross the Fluela Pass, then stop in the ski town of Klosters for afternoon tea. Continue back to Zurich through the picturesque vineyards of Maienfeld, where you can visit vineyards dating back to Roman times. End the drive along the shores of Lake Zurich, stopping for a sunset drink at the Seerose bar before returning to your hotel.
For your final day, you can take a boat trip on Lake Zurich or spend your time strolling through the Old Town or the lovely lakeside parks.
