- The day winds down with a relaxed dinner, setting the tone for everything that lies ahead.

- After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Siliguri to Phuentsholing, marking the start of an incredible journey into Bhutan. The route takes you through lush tea gardens, rolling hills, and charming countryside villages, offering a delightful taste of the region's natural beauty.
- As we approach the international border, excitement builds for the crossing into Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Upon arrival in Phuentsholing, we’ll proceed with visa or entry permit formalities at the Immigration Office.
- If time allows, take a leisurely walk through this vibrant border town, where you’ll catch your first glimpses of Bhutanese culture, architecture, and local life. End the day with a relaxed evening and an overnight stay in Phuentsholing, ready for the adventures that lie ahead!

- After completing any remaining visa formalities, our convoy will hit the road for a picturesque drive towards our next destination, Paro. The journey is a feast for the senses, with lush valleys, dense forests, and traditional Bhutanese hamlets lining the route, offering glimpses of the serene beauty that defines this Himalayan kingdom.
- En route, we stop at Milarepa Lhakhang, a quiet monastery believed to mark one of the meditation sites of the Tibetan yogi Milarepa during his time in the Himalayas. Surrounded by forested hills, the lhakhang is known for its peaceful setting and simple architecture, making it a more offbeat stop compared to Bhutan’s larger monasteries.
- By evening, we arrive in Paro and check in to our hotel. The day winds down with a relaxed dinner as you settle into the rhythm of Bhutan.

- Today takes you deeper into Bhutan’s quieter side as we head out on a day excursion to the serene Haa Valley, one of the country’s least explored regions. The drive itself is a highlight as we ascend to Chele La Pass at 3,822 meters, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan. On a clear day, you get sweeping views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Jomolhari, with rows of prayer flags marking the ridge.
- Descending into Haa Valley, the landscape opens up into wide valleys and scattered villages. Here, we visit Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple), two of the oldest and most important temples in the region. According to local legend, these temples were built in the 7th century by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo as part of a network of 108 temples constructed to subdue a demoness lying across the Himalayas.
- You may also choose to visit Yangthang Village, a quiet settlement offering panoramic views of the Haa Valley, ideal for a short pause and a wider perspective of the landscape.
- After a day full of exploration, return to your hotel in Paro for another cozy overnight stay, reflecting on the wonders of the day.

- The day begins with an unforgettable hike to Bhutan’s most iconic landmark, the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang). Perched dramatically on a cliffside at 3,120 meters, this sacred site is a symbol of Bhutan’s spiritual heritage. The hike covers 6.5 km and takes 4 to 5 hours round trip, starting and ending at 2,600 meters. For those seeking an alternative, mules are available to take you up to the viewpoint, offering stunning vistas of the monastery without the full trek.
- Reaching the monastery is a rewarding experience – the views are breathtaking, and the serene energy of this sacred site is truly unmatched. The journey itself, through pine forests and mountain trails, is as inspiring as the destination.
- After descending, the late afternoon brings a chance to relax and experience Bhutanese hospitality. Visit a traditional farmhouse and indulge in a rejuvenating hot stone bath, immersing yourself in their warm culture and way of life.
- End the day with delectable dinner followed by an overnight stay in Paro.

- Today, we bid farewell to Paro and embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital city. En route, stop at Tamchhog Lhakhang, a charming temple built by the legendary iron bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo. Don’t miss the chance to admire and photograph its 600 years old traditional suspension bridge draped with colorful prayer flags.
- Once in Thimphu, our exploration begins with a visit to the towering Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, offering sweeping views of the valley. The rest of the evening is at leisure and you're free to explore the capital city on your own. The day ends with dinner at the hotel and an overnight stay in Thimphu.

- Today is dedicated to exploring Thimphu in depth, giving you a closer look at Bhutan’s culture, craftsmanship, and way of life. We begin with a visit to the School of Traditional Arts and Crafts, where students train in Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts, preserving skills like painting, wood carving, and sculpture that have been passed down for generations.
- We will visit the Royal Textile Museum, which showcases Bhutan’s rich weaving traditions, including intricate patterns, royal garments, and the cultural significance of textiles in Bhutanese life. At the Takin Reserve, you’ll encounter Bhutan’s national animal, the takin, a rare and unusual species found only in the Himalayan region.
- The exploration continues with a visit to a traditional paper factory, where handmade paper is produced using age-old techniques from natural fibres. At the Postal Museum, you’ll discover Bhutan’s unique and creative approach to stamps, including personalized stamp printing.
- Afterwards, a walk through the Craft Bazaar gives you time to browse local handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs, offering a glimpse into Bhutan’s artisanal culture. We also visit Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and the central monastic body. Its grand architecture and riverside setting make it one of the most prominent landmarks in the capital.
- After a day of exploration, we will return to the hotel and retire for the night.

- After breakfast, the convoy rolls from Thimphu to Punakha. En route, we cross Dochu La Pass, one of Bhutan’s most breathtaking spots perched at an altitude of 3,140 meters. On a clear day, the pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan range, with 108 chortens (stupas) adding to the serene beauty.
- As we descend towards Punakha, we take a short and scenic hike to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility), located amidst paddy fields. Built in the 15th century and associated with Lama Drukpa Kunley, also known as the Divine Madman, the temple is known for its unique cultural significance and is widely believed to bless couples seeking fertility.
- Upon reaching Punakha, we visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, often considered the most beautiful dzong in Bhutan. Nestled at the confluence of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, the dzong is a masterpiece of traditional Bhutanese architecture. Explore its impressive courtyards, intricate woodwork, and vibrant murals that reflect Bhutan’s deep spiritual and cultural heritage.
- Next, take a walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Punakha valley and the rivers below.
- Spend the night in Punakha, where the peaceful atmosphere will make it easy to relax and reflect on the beauty of the day.

- After breakfast, we set out on a scenic drive towards Phobjikha Valley, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful glacial valleys. As the road climbs and descends through forests and mountain passes, the landscape slowly opens up into a wide, bowl-shaped valley known for its untouched beauty.
- On arrival, we stop for lunch at a local homestay, offering you a chance to experience authentic Bhutanese cuisine and warm hospitality in a traditional setting.
- In the afternoon, we explore the valley, beginning with the Black-necked Crane Information Centre, which offers insight into the migratory cranes that arrive here during winter and are deeply revered in Bhutanese culture. We then visit Gangtey Goemba, a 17th-century monastery that overlooks the valley and serves as an important centre of the Nyingma school of Buddhism.
- The rest of the evening is at leisure and you can explore Phobjikha valley at a relaxed pace, taking in its open landscapes, walking trails, and peaceful surroundings. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay in Phobjikha.

- After a relaxed breakfast, we begin one of the most scenic and rewarding drives of the journey, heading towards Bumthang via Trongsa. The route winds through dense forests, mountain passes, and deep valleys, offering constantly changing landscapes along the way.
- Upon reaching Trongsa, we stop to visit the Royal Heritage Museum, housed in the historic Ta Dzong. The museum offers a detailed insight into Bhutan’s royal lineage and the evolution of the monarchy, making it one of the most informative cultural stops on the journey.
- After lunch, we continue our drive towards Bumthang, often referred to as the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. By late afternoon, we arrive and check into our hotel.
- If time permits, you may choose to head out for a short visit to Jambay Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples dating back to the 7th century, and Jakar Dzong, a prominent fortress overlooking the valley and an important administrative and religious centre. The day ends with dinner at the hotel and an overnight stay in Bumthang.

- Today, we set out on one of the longest and most adventurous drives of the journey, heading east towards Trashigang. The route takes you through remote mountain roads, dense forests, and ever-changing landscapes that showcase Bhutan in its raw and untouched form.
- The drive is the highlight today. With dramatic elevation changes, winding mountain roads, and constantly shifting landscapes, every hour brings a new perspective.
- As we approach Trashigang, you’ll notice the unique charm of Eastern Bhutan becoming more apparent. Known as the largest district in Bhutan, Trashigang serves as a major trading hub for the eastern region and is a cultural heartland. The town is famous for its vibrant festivals and the nearby Trashigang Dzong, a historical fortress perched dramatically on a hilltop overlooking the confluence of the Drangme Chhu and Gamri Chhu rivers.
- Upon arrival in Trashigang, we will check into our accommodations and retire for the night.

- The pace slows down today as we spend time exploring Trashigang, the cultural heart of Eastern Bhutan. You can explore the town at a relaxed pace, with its hillside setting and views over the surrounding valleys offering a very different perspective from Western Bhutan.
- You may also choose to visit Rangjung Yoesel Chholing Lhakhang, a relatively modern monastery established in the late 20th century by the respected Buddhist master Garab Rinpoche. It serves as an important centre for the Nyingma school of Buddhism in Eastern Bhutan and is known for its detailed murals and large prayer halls.
- The rest of the day is at leisure allowing you to unwind or simply take in the surroundings at your own pace. Dinner and overnight stay in Trashigang.

- We leave behind the town of Trashigang to head towards our next destination. This particular drive is a fascinating experience as we gradually descend from the lush hills of Eastern Bhutan to the subtropical lowlands, witnessing dramatic shifts in the landscape along the way.
- Our route passes through Khaling, a picturesque region known for its serene beauty and the National Institute for the Visually Impaired, a testament to Bhutan's commitment to inclusive education. Khaling also houses one of Bhutan’s oldest weaving centers, showcasing the vibrant tradition of Bhutanese textiles.

- As we approach Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan’s gateway to India, the scenery transforms into a blend of rolling plains and tropical vegetation. Known as Bhutan’s oldest trading town, the town serves as a bustling commercial hub and is an ideal spot to experience Bhutan’s eastern border culture.
