Before you touch the sand, we walk you through the vehicle capabilities required for sand bashing, as the locals call it. Our Toyota Land Cruiser Prados are purpose-built for desert terrain—4x4, high clearance, and fitted with recovery gear. But the real magic starts when we lower the tire pressure.
Why? Because soft sand demands surface area. Deflating the tires slightly spreads the weight of the vehicle, giving you better traction and control. It’s a small adjustment with a big impact—and one of dozens of techniques we teach to help you drive smarter, not harder.
